How long have you been working at My Jewellery?
Since March 1, 2018.
What do you do at My Jewellery?
I focus on all HR issues relevant to the retail sector. Because of the diverse nature of our retail staff, who work both at our Headquarters and in our Boutiques, no two days are the same! We’re constantly working on projects to use policy to provide even more structure and room for growth.
What makes your job so fun?
The camaraderie among colleagues and the down-to-earth, approachable attitude. We do it all together! We’re always able to brainstorm new steps and how we can turn certain challenges into successes. And then we end the day on a high note with a workout class with colleagues.
What steps have you taken since you started working here?
I started in May 2018 as Store Manager of the Boutique in Utrecht. At that time, we only had five Boutiques. Six months later, I helped open the Boutique in Amsterdam and became Co-Manager of Utrecht and Amsterdam. Growth in retail continued, and when Boutique number 13 opened, I started as a Retail Coordinator to oversee several Boutiques in the central and northern Netherlands. Eventually, I made the move to HR. With opportunities for self-study and ‘learning on the job’, I’ve truly made the field my own, and every day brings exciting challenges to tackle.

Amber van Bodegraven
HR-Advisor My Warehouse
How long have you been working at My Jewellery?
I started at My Jewellery in August 2019.
What do you do at My Jewellery?
My role is very varied. I work on projects such as setting up onboarding for logistics staff and developing a new performance review and compensation policy. I also support the Team Leaders in various employee-related matters. We have weekly meetings, which allows us to truly build a strong and stable team together.
What makes your job so fun?
I get energy from working with people who all want to get the best out of My Warehouse. The best moment is when a new employee comes up to me and says they’ve never felt so seen before. That makes it personal and meaningful. I also get a lot of satisfaction from helping colleagues and seeing them grow.
How would you describe the atmosphere within the HR team?
There’s plenty of room for fun. We regularly come up with fun activities, such as a “pepernoten tasting contest,” get-togethers, or a Christmas & New Year’s game night with traditional Dutch games. We celebrate both the big and small moments together. That makes working here extra fun and ensures that I feel completely at home.
What steps have you taken since you started working here?
I started six years ago as an HR intern. From there, I progressed to HR Assistant, HR Associate, and eventually HR Advisor for the warehouse. Here, you get the chance to take steps forward and develop yourself. Moreover, the company’s dynamic environment teaches you to be flexible and spot opportunities. That’s something I really enjoy and that has also made me stronger in my role.

When someone is happy because something has been handled well, I know I’m doing my job right. Transparency and speed are very important to me.
What is it like to work in the HR team?
The atmosphere is warm, open, and supportive. No question is a wrong one. From my very first day, I felt immediately welcome. I was part of the team right away and didn’t feel like a new colleague.
