Meet the team | Warehouse

Our hard-working colleagues at My Warehouse are busy all day with all the packages which are ordered and returned daily. With so many orders, the warehouse team is constantly growing. Want to know more? Read all about it below.

Melvin Vermeulen Projectmanager Warehouse

How long have you been working at My Jewellery? Since January 2024.

What are your daily tasks? I’m responsible for the oversight and coordination of all warehouse projects, focusing on mechanisation and automation. Each project often involves multiple subprojects, and I ensure everything aligns and runs efficiently. I collaborate with internal teams and external partners to successfully implement projects and optimally support operations.

What makes your work day feel like a party? The great vibe, amazing colleagues, and smooth teamwork. We work hard, laugh a lot, and everyone values each other’s opinion.

What’s it like to work at My Warehouse? Dynamic and challenging! The range of tasks is broad, and the environment is constantly evolving. No day is ever the same. The company’s growth brings new challenges, so finding a healthy balance and avoiding change overload is key. I guide and support the team through transitions, which makes the work educational, exciting, and requires quick decisions. As a team we’re honest, complement each other with our own expertise and empower each other with our diverse profiles.

What’s your My Jewellery moment to celebrate? Implementing both a new Warehouse Management System and an Autonomous Mobile Robots system, all within a year!

Nina van Breda Warehouse Safety Officer

How long have you been working at My Jewellery? I’ve been working at My Jewellery since August 2024.

What are your daily tasks? I ensure everyone goes home safely and healthy each day by identifying and minimising workplace risks. From emergency response and fire safety to physical strain and machinery safety. I’m the go-to person for all safety-related questions or notifications. I work together with diverse departments to create a safe and healthy work environment and make sure safety is always ‘top of mind’. The role is challenging, not only at My Jewellery, but in any company. You have to get people on board with the ideas of why safety is important and how they can play a role in it. I have to translate complicated (and usually boring) safety regulations or legislation into something practical and understandable. This takes strong practical communication and empathy, it’s not just rule making.

What’s it like to work at My Warehouse? It’s an enthusiastic, close-knit team. I appreciate the freedom to implement my ideas without needing endless approval. Communication is fast and direct, and everyone is prepared to help each other out.

What’s your My Jewellery moment to celebrate? Since I started, we’ve already made big safety improvements, something I’m proud of. I’ve enjoyed every day at work so far.

What makes your work day feel like a celebration? The atmosphere among colleagues: informal, with room for a chat and a laugh. You can really feel that everyone is enthusiastic, driven, and always aiming to grow and improve as a team.

Stijn Quaden Logistics Engineer

How long have you been working at My Jewellery? I’ve been part of My Jewellery since March 2024.

What makes your work day feel like a party? The mutual friendliness and the way everyone listens to each other. Your opinion is valued, and you truly feel part of a bigger team.

What are your daily tasks? Every day, I look for opportunities and possibilities to speed up processes. That can be physically on the floor, or through analyses that identify pain points. Due to the rapid growth at My Jewellery, new challenges constantly come my way. One moment it's about designing and rolling out an efficient floor plan, the next it's about how many locations are still available.

What’s it like to work at My Warehouse? It’s a fun group that values teamwork. Despite different interests, we always find a way to make things work as best as we can.

What’s your My Jewellery moment to celebrate? The best part is the peak period. Together we make sure we break record after record. This is mainly thanks to good preparation and collaboration between various teams.

Karlijn Schalken Warehouse Process Improver

How long have you been working at My Jewellery? I’ve been working at My Jewellery since January 2020.

What are your daily tasks? As a Process Improver, I work on continuously improving current processes and developing potential new ones. It’s especially important that these are set up as efficiently as possible for warehouse staff and are workable for everyone who has to deal with them.

What’s it like to work at My Warehouse? It’s really nice to work here. We’ve been in our new warehouse since June 2023, and it’s been great to witness all the developments. No day is the same, which keeps the work challenging. Plus, we have a great team that likes to help and support each other. That’s what makes going to work enjoyable for me.

Quinty Mastop Warehouse Application Manager

How long have you been working at My Jewellery? I’ve been working at My Warehouse since May 2024.

What are your daily tasks? I not only manage and optimise the WMS (Warehouse Management System), but also look at how changes affect the shop floor. Before making any adjustments, I check how these impact daily processes. It’s all about good teamwork and communication, because in the end, the real-life workflow determines whether something works.

What has your growth path at My Jewellery been like? I’ve grown from Application Support Employee to Application Manager. That was a great milestone.

What is your My Jewellery moment to celebrate? The moment we could capture on camera how the Geek+ robots moved through the warehouse for the first time. With this warehouse robotisation, we can pick orders in a smarter, faster, and easier way. It was amazing to see how the hard work of the previous months, the preparation and the testing, finally resulted in successfully picked orders.

What makes your work day feel like a party? No matter what happens, we always keep laughing and logging ;)
