Growing in an unexpected direction
“I started at My Warehouse on October 1st, 2019, unpacking returns. At first, it was only meant to be temporary while I figured out what I wanted to study. But then I got the opportunity to work in returns administration. Later on, that process became automated, which meant most of those tasks disappeared. Right at that moment, I got the chance to join the Finance team. An opportunity I grabbed with both hands!”
“When I started in Finance, I had very little knowledge of accounting, but I was eager to learn and grow. Today, I process bank transactions, handle invoices, cash registers and rent payments, and manage the administration for our international vendor entities. Returns administration is still part of my responsibilities as well. In the meantime, I also completed my General Accounting qualification, something I’m really proud of.”
You’re capable of more than you think
“What I’ve learned is that you’re capable of more than you think, as long as you stay curious and aren’t afraid to try new things. It’s about daring to take chances, doing it, and believing in yourself. My Jewellery gave me the space to grow, even in a direction I had never imagined for myself. That trust gave me such a confidence boost. And being able to do this within such a supportive team, where we help each other, laugh together and work towards the best results every day, makes it even more special!”
