A flying start
“My My Jewellery journey started on March 1st, 2018 as a Store Manager in Utrecht. Within three days after my first interview, I had already signed my contract. It all happened quickly, but it immediately felt right. Not long after, I was asked to become DUO Store Manager for Utrecht and our new Boutique in Amsterdam. Every week I switched between the two cities, and when Rotterdam was added too, I grew into the role of Retail Coordinator. Such an amazing time full of new stores, travelling and teamwork.”
An unexpected next step
“When the pandemic hit, everything changed and the Retail Coordinator role temporarily disappeared. But instead of standing still, I looked for other ways to use my strengths. That’s how I ended up in HR. I started as an HR Employee and am now HR Advisor for Retail. My days are filled with all kinds of questions and challenges for our colleagues in the stores and at Headquarters. No day is ever the same, and that keeps it exciting.”
Flexibility creates opportunities
“What I’ve learned over the years? Flexibility can take you far. Dare to fail, learn from feedback and stay open to change. My Jewellery is a place where you truly get the space to grow. If you show that you want it, so many opportunities open up. I grabbed those opportunities, reinvented myself and I’m proud of that.”
Getting a little better every day
“The atmosphere between colleagues, the down-to-earth culture and our shared drive to keep improving make every day special. And the best part? Ending a challenging workday together with colleagues during a workout session. That’s what makes work complete for me.”
