Retail is all about people
“As Head of Retail, I’m responsible for everything related to our Boutiques. From location selection and store development to everything that happens once a Boutique opens its doors. Think customer experience, visual merchandising, store operations and, most importantly: leading and developing our teams.”
“To me, retail is about so much more than stores. It’s about people. I have an amazing team around me that helps bring the My Jewellery experience to life. Seeing everything come together in our Boutiques is one of the most rewarding parts of my role.”
Energy on the shop floor
“What gives me the most energy? Without a doubt, the people. Creating an environment where colleagues feel good and can perform at their best motivates me every day. What I love most is giving people opportunities to learn, develop and take on more responsibility. Recently, we celebrated several promotions in the field and welcomed a new colleague to the team. Those are exactly the moments that make me love my job.”
“During a recent visit to our Boutiques in ’s-Hertogenbosch, I felt that again very strongly. The stores looked amazing, the teams radiated energy and customers were happy. Everything came to life. In moments like that, I feel incredibly proud to be part of My Jewellery.”
Proud of what we’ve built
“In 2025, we achieved something special with the Retail team: we opened almost twenty stores in less than a year. That is a huge achievement. It only happens with great people, strong leadership and close collaboration between the teams at Head Office and the teams in the field. To open that many stores successfully, everyone needs to feel the same energy and focus. I’m incredibly proud of what we have built together.”
A big step built on trust
“My story at My Jewellery started in July 2025 as a consulting assignment. But very quickly, I felt how unique the people and culture are here. Within a few weeks, I knew: I want to be part of this. That belief was so strong that I moved my life, and my family’s life, from Los Angeles to the Netherlands. That says everything about how much trust I have in the people, the culture and the future of My Jewellery.”
A culture you can feel
“What impressed me from the very beginning is the entrepreneurial spirit within My Jewellery. We’ve become a strong brand, but we still have the energy and mindset of a start-up. That combination is really special.”
“The people I work with are smart, curious, driven, creative, persistent and kind. There is very little ego. Everyone is open to different perspectives and ideas, because we know that makes us better. A lot of my work builds on my years of experience in retail, but I still learn something new here every day. There are differences in culture, ways of working and local markets. That keeps me sharp and makes this step so exciting.”
“One tradition I really love is that we often start meetings with the question: ‘What are we celebrating today?’ Everyone shares something they’re proud of, whether it’s work-related or personal. It shows how important it is here that people feel seen, heard and appreciated.”

“What I love about retail is the diversity. Our teams are made up of hundreds of colleagues with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. That creates better ideas, more energy and stronger results. To me, that is exactly what ‘Let’s grow together’ is all about. Not only growing as a company, but building an environment where people feel seen, get opportunities and contribute to something special with energy every day.”
